A Buck for Good Behavior
Every so often I experience what can only be explained as a “sign”. You may think that’s silly, but it happens, and sometimes the sign is so obvious it’s hard to think otherwise.
A perfect example happened yesterday when I was waiting for my lunch at one of the food trucks in the parking lot. (Senor Sisig . . . highly recommend). It was windy, as it usually is in this spot by the Bay, and a plastic bag blew out of the garbage can, threaded itself through a line of people, all of whom glanced at it and chose to ignore. This kind of stuff drives me crazy, so I went off after it and though I saw it blow underneath a car. I got down on my knees, peered underneath and removed what turned out to be a different piece of trash. Not sure where the bag went, I walked back around the car, spotted it and chased it down in the gutter. As I picked it up the “sign” was revealed to me in the form of a crisp $1 bill. Say what you will, but I was chasing down garbage others ignored and was rewarded with a buck!
Sure, I’d do this for free, but every once in a while it’s nice to get a little payment (and hopefully some good Karma) in return.
